The pressure gauge is manufactured as a small and quick unit to be carried by the brewer in his pocket.
A 100% accurate measurement cannot be expected, considering the fact that the pressure measurement which forms the basis of the CO2 value to be read from enclosed diagram (table), is a measurement taken at a well-known temperature.
The pressure gauge however, is designed as a easy tool to indicate the necessity of taking accurate laboratory measurements and it is applicable for pressure measurements taken in common glass and PET bottles.

The foam of the beer is one of the important external quality characteristics of the drink and hence reliable measuring of the quality in the laboratory is valuable.
The FT-003 Foam Tester is developed for laboratories as an advanced but cost efficient unit which can be connected to the SD-002 Sampling Device to form a standalone test setup.
Foam is generated by pressing a constant beer volume through a nozzle into a glass cylinder where the foam develops and its decay is optically measured by recognized methods. By means of two IR reflection detectors placed at the outside of the glass cylinder test results may be obtained for “Half-life” and “First-drain”.Ease of operation and a high reproducibility of measured results are features of this unit.

Shaking movements are adjusted in order to obtain an optimum mixing and to prevent the sample from getting too hot. As a very heavy sample shaking is required all moving parts are supplied with strong stainless steel ball bearings. |
Speed setting:
There are three options to set the shaking speed by turning the speed button.
VAR: When moving the rotary switch to setting VAR it When moving the rotary switch to setting VAR it is possible to adjust the shaking speed all over the range of measurement by turning the button marked VAR.
BITTERNESS: When delivered, the instrument is preset at 600 cycles per min. At this speed the timer must be set to 15 minutes. It is possible to change the must be set to 15 minutes. It is possible to change the preset speed by using a screwdriver – setting marked ADJ.BITTERNESS.
X: Also when moving the rotary switch to setting X the speed will be preset and may be adjusted by using a screwdriver – setting marked ADJ.X
Note: Above adjustments (ADJ.BITTERNESS and ADJ.X) must be made only when the instrument is turned on and the speed is displayed. The adjusted speed will be stored and will be available also when the load is changed.
Time Setting:
An electronic timer integrated in the instrument is connected or disconnected when switch marked TIMER ON/OFF is activated TIMER ON/OFF is activated.
In position OFF the instrument is started by pressing the button marked TIMER START. The instrument will then operate continuously until pushing the switch marked TIMER STOP.
In position TIMER ON the shaking time is set at digits of whole minutes from 1 to 99 by pressing the digital switch marked TIMER MIN.
In position TIMER ON the instrument is started by pressing the button marked TIMER START. The instrument will operate until the set time is reached and the timer automatical1y disconnects the instrument and reset, ready for next period.
It will always be possible to stop the instrument by pressing the button marked TIMER STOP. The timer is simultaneously reset.
Loss of power or disconnection of the switch POWER ON will also reset the timer.

It is essential for the measurement that the correct test condition is established. This unit can handle four bottles or cans simultaneously and is preprogrammed to 40 rotations pr. minute but may be programmed otherwise on request. The size of bottles may vary from normal and up to 2 liter PET flasks. |
